The oval Fordite faceted ring is set in sterling silver. This beautiful gemstone will sparkle all day long.
A little history on Fordite: Fordite was created from the overspray of paint in automotive factories. The layers would build on the tracks and need to be removed to ensure the tracks weren't damaged. This is the ultimate upcycle of fashion, using discarded paint to create a one of a kind piece of jewelry!
The best way to care for your jewelry is to clean it with soap and water and then store it in a clean and dry place. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner on any of these pieces as it may damage the stone and finish.
For a matte finish, you can use a fine steel wool pad to clean it. Since the metal is already textured, you won’t ruin the finish. For pieces with an oxidized finish, do not use polishing cloths or jewelry cleaners as it may remove the finish. Oxidization may lighten over time so I am happy to re-oxidize any piece.
