These earrings are an elegant and comfortable way to wear the unique Fordite stone. Fordite is actually automotive paint that accumulated on the tracks while cars were being painted. Cars are not painted in this fashion anymore, so that makes Fordite rare and one of a kind. The best way to care for your jewelry is to clean it with soap and water and then store it in a clean and dry place. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner on any of these pieces as it may damage the stone and finish.
For a matte finish, you can use a fine steel wool pad to clean it. Since the metal is already textured, you won’t ruin the finish. For pieces with an oxidized finish, do not use polishing cloths or jewelry cleaners as it may remove the finish. Oxidization may lighten over time so I am happy to re-oxidize any piece.
