These earrings are made of sterling silver that has been hand stamped with the word VOTE. The earrings are textured and oxidized.
A portion of sales from the VOTE earrings will be donated to the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, one of the country's leading civil rights organizations today. This nonprofit, nonpartisan organization was formed at the request of President Kennedy in 1963 and today they work inside and outside of the courtoom for a just America, fighting voter suppression, ensuring equal access to the ballot box, combating racial disparities in the criminal justice system, to name a few of their responsibilities.
I chose this organization because in 2003 I graduated from law school and practiced for a short time in the Washington, DC area. While I am no longer a practicing attorney, I took an oath that I am very proud of and I stand with those organizations whose mission is justice and equality for all.
Also, these earrings will be shipped USPS Priority Mail to support our Postal Service during these trying times.
Ultrasonic cleaners tend to remove the oxidized finish so the best way to care for your jewelry is to clean it with soap and water. Store it in a clean dry place.
Do not use a traditional polishing cloth on your matte finished jewelry as this will restore a shiny finish. You can use a fine steel wool pad to clean your pieces, and since they are textured, you won’t ruin or scratch the finish.
For the oxidized pieces, over time the patina may wear, so I am happy to re-oxidize the piece. Please reach out to me at chrissyliujewelry@gmail.com.
